Tree root intrusion in sewer laterals
Why it happens here
Forest Hills streets are lined with mature trees. Roots seek moisture and enter sewer pipes through joints and cracks. Once inside, they form a mass that catches paper and waste, causing slow drains and backups. Snaking only cuts a hole through the root ball.
Our approach
We run a camera to see the roots, then hydro jet the line at 3,000 to 4,000 PSI to cut them back to the pipe wall. For recurring problems, we apply a foaming root inhibitor or recommend a spot repair. We also schedule annual maintenance for homes with known root issues.
